Inception of the first international art workshop in Asia

The first-ever Tropical Lab was held from 14 to 27 November 2005 at LASALLE College of the Arts’ former premises on Goodman Road. Activities included a drawing and research trip to Pulau Ubin island, a trip that was to become one of the signature highlights in the succeeding years. The event culminated in an exhibition, entitled UrbanNonUrban.

Six years on, these pioneering Lab artists have gone on to pursue successful careers in their respective fields as artists, art historians, curators and designers. Click on some the links to their names to see what they’ve been up to.
